Granting Access to Your BigCommerce Account
Instructions for Granting Access to BigCommerce
To get your API Credentials, you have to create an API Account on the admin page of your BigCommerce store. Only the user set as a store owner can create API Accounts. As part of this setup process, you will also be creating the necessary security keys that BrandSlice will need to pull a copy of your inventory from your BigCommerce database. This process occurs once a day normally when your store is closed.
Instructions for gathering the access credentials:
1. Log in to your BigCommerce admin panel
2. In the left navigation menu, go to Settings, and then scroll down to the bottom to the API section and click on Store Level API Accounts.
2. The API Accounts dialog is shown. If this is your first time connecting your account, it will say "No Accounts were found". Click on the Create API account button.
If you have previously set up an API account that connects to BrandSlice, click on the existing Account Name.
3. Complete the Create account form as follows:
- Leave the value for the Token Type field set to "V2/V3 API Token"
- Enter BrandSlice in the Name field
- IMPORTANT: Copy and Paste the API Path value shown and place it in a new email you will need to send to support@brandSlice.io at the end of these steps.
- Underneath the OAuth Scopes, please set the following options to "read-only". BrandSlice will not be able to read your inventory data if these are not granted.
- Products
- Store Locations
4. When you’re done making these changes, click the Save button in the lower right corner of the screen. If the save was successful, the following dialog will be shown.
- Copy and paste the value from the Access token field into the same email you started back in step 3. We do not need the Client ID and Client secret values.
- Send the email to support@brandSlice.io or you main contact person
