What Set up Is Required to Run Social Media Ads?
Confirm Your Account Settings
Before you run your first Social Media Ad, you will need to make sure your account is set up.
- Select the Account menu option in the left navigation bar, and select Retailer Settings.
- In the first section, review the information that has been provided by your brand partner; select Edit in the top right if any information needs to be updated.
- In the second section, indicate whether or not you'd like to use a single credit card for all locations, or set up payments for ads at the retailer location level. If the former, add a credit card; if the latter, see below.
Finalize Your Location Settings
- Select the Retailer Locations menu option in the left navigation bar
- Select the Retail Location you'd like to edit
- Press the Edit option at the top of the list
- When a Retailer Location record is established in the system, the default value is set to 25 miles
- Select the Edit button next to the Location Targeting section to modify the value
- Select the radius distance around your store's address that you would like your social media ad to run. The larger the radius, the more people the ad will potentially reach. But be careful, a larger radius can also require more of a daily ad budget to serve this larger audience. The address the radius uses as a center point is shown in the Contact Information section just above this section.
- To run a Social ad on Facebook and Instagram, you'll need a credit card connected to your account. Your ad budget and Lynkem's ad fee are charged in a single transaction to your credit card each time an ad is run
- Select the Edit button next to the Billing section to enter a credit card; all major credit cards are accepted
- Enter a valid credit card and related credentials. This must be entered for each Retailer location, even if its the same credit card for each. This is an easy way for each store to allocate costs to different credit cards.
- To run a Social Media Ad on Facebook and Instagram, you'll need to grant Lynkem certain permissions to connect to your pages. Don't worry, Lynkem will only be using this access to publish the ads you select to your Facebook and Instagram accounts.
- In the Social Account Access section, select the Grant Facebook Access button
- A series of Facebook dialogs will pop up asking you to grant access AND most importantly, assign the proper Facebook page to this retailer location record. A Retailer may have a separate page for each store in a multi-location situation so its very important that the right page is connected to each location. Therefore, this step will have to be done separately for each location.
